Great remixes.October 27, 2005 For anyone who has ever heard M.I.A., they know that she is brilliant and her music is probably some of the most infectious stuff out there. "Galang" was her debut single and it turned everybody's heads. It is one of the catchiest songs ever made.
The "'05" version of Galang is no different than the original except that it has the chant at the beginning and end, which I think sound better. (It is also simply known as the radio edit.) The Serj Tankian Remix is very energetic and has more of a rockish feel to it, with guitars and everything. It fits very well, although I must admit that a little of the song's spark is loast, just for the fact that it doesn't have the pulsing beat. But it is still a great remix. The DJ C Remix og URAQT is also very good and is worth the purchase.
This great maxi single comes in a digipak case with some of M.I.A.'s beautiful art inside. Although $12 is a bit too pricy for only 3 tracks. I would reccomend trying to find it at a local store near you, like Tower records. I got mine for $8.
