Album Description Cash Money/Universal Motown Records multi-platinum artist Lil Wayne is once again taking control of the airwaves and breaking records in both with "Lollipop," the first single from his highly anticipated album Tha Carter III. This is the biggest add week that a hip-hop artist has received at Rhythm Crossover and the biggest any artist has received at Urban Radio including Beyonce and Mariah. "Lollipop," is being well received at key radio stations across the country including: New York (Hot 97), Los Angeles (Power), Seattle (93 KUBE), Miami (99 Jamz), Philadelphia (Power 99), Atlanta (Hot 107) and Detroit (Hot 102). Lil Wayne's MySpace page received over a million unique views this week giving him the #1 Top Artist profile on the site. The video is currently in heavy rotation at MTV, MTV2, BET's Rap City and MTV Jams, where it appeared as the Jam Of The Week. The "Lollipop" video is also in medium rotation at MTV Hits and on BET's main playlist. Lil Wayne will also appear on BET's annual Spring Bling and will be only the 2nd artist in the event's history to perform for an entire episode! Since the release of his last CD, the platinum selling Tha Cater II, Lil Wayne has guest appearances on over 70 songs for other artists including Fat Joe's 2008 Grammy nominated single "Make It Rain," DJ Khaled's "We Taking Over," and Wyclef Jeans' "Sweetest Girl." He also released a duet CD with Bryan "Birdman" Williams titled Like Father, Like Son in 2006 which was a critical and commercial success.

not the best wayne by far January 5, 2009 defeniatly went overboard with the weirdness. it seems like wayne gets weirder and weirder every album. best song on the album is lala but thats only cause david banner's beat saved it. its all just played out music from the radio.
A weezy album from Weezy December 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I rate this CD 2 stars for the 2 good songs that are on this CD. Not that Lil' Wayne isn't marketable, it's just that he's not that talented at all. You talk over any beat and put a cute little kid with some fake tattoos on his face and people will buy it, but in the end, we got robbed based on media hype and "marketability". You want REAL Hip-Hop? Go to your local club and catch the up and commers who are doing all the right things, but are held down because Hip-Hop has branched out into the mainstream, and guys who's time has come are still in the limelight. There's no room for progress.
The most annoying thing about this album is that Lil Wayne sounds like he recorded this after just waking up or during a severe case of strep throat. His voice is scratchy and hoarse and it just gives you that feeling that he didn't put any effort into recording his album, yet he wants you to think he's one of the greatest out there today. Did we forget how to rap or something my friend?? Get some pencil and paper and do us all a favor and either come back with something strong or just stay out of the game for good.
I'm no Lil Wayne fan but this is ok December 13, 2008 I'm one of those people who thought "What's the big deal about this lil Payne Lil Wayne or whatever his name is?" But this album is decent.
He is far from the greatest rapper alive or dead. He is no Tupac and no Biggie but he is one of the few rappers around who are keeping Hip Hop barely alive. Along with Kanye West and Nas they might save Hip Hop for the next generation to experience its importance. The problem I have with Lil Wayne is he sometimes slurs and mumbles his way through some songs, its almost like he doesn't care about the art anymore and he's just in it for the money.
I got the album based on the tracks 'A milli' and 'Got money'. I think there's at least 4 good tracks which could be singles:
1. Phone Home 2. Mr Carter 3. Tie my hands 4. Comfortable
Some will disagree with me but this is just my PERSONAL opinion.
I tried... December 5, 2008 Lord knows I tried to listen to this CD 3 times...IT SUUUUUCKS!! And the lyrics are incoherent at best. "I am a martian..." is the most thought provoking lyrics on here. WOW!!! I've never sipped syrup, but maybe I have to, to understand why this was so popular. And to think its been grammy nominated??? This proves once and for ALL that the Grammys has degenerated into nothing but a popularity contest; whoever sells the most CDs that year, no matter about real artistry, gets a best album nomination.
Nas' CD was much better and much more thought provoking.

after wait so long for wayne's cd to drop. i was so mad that i wasted my money on this crap he calls his best cd.. i now realize that he will never have a good cd again.. he sound so much like t. pain in some songs. and most of the thing that he say on his song sound like he need to go back and write and have some one that has some type of rap skill (like jadakiss or my fav the game) b4 he say hafe the stuff he do.. to all who havnt got this cd yet. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND YOUR MONEY...
