Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
This soundtrack contains songs from Curb recording artists Kaci, Kimberley Locke and Plumb, along with cuts from Howie Day, Jadon Lavik, Sarah Overall, Beth Thornley, Grits and Styx frontman Dennis DeYoung.

Diane Warren, considered one of the most prolific and successful contemporary songwriters, wrote "I Will Learn to Love Again" for the film and has high expectations for the single. "'I Will Learn to Love Again' is the perfect song for Curb's artist, Kaci. The Perfect Man is a fun, feel good movie and this song is a natural radio hit. I wrote the songs for Coyote Ugly on Curb Records and 'Can't Fight the Moonlight' was a huge hit for me, Kathy Nelson and Mike Curb. It's a winning combination. Kaci is about to make the same history with this song," said Warren.

Album Description
In The Perfect Man, Holly (Hilary Duff) gets tired of moving every time her mom's (Heather Locklear) relationships melt down. Even worse, the relationships are consistently with second rate guys. Longing to stay in the same place and end her mom's losing streak, Holly conceives the perfect plan... she'll create an imaginary secret admirer to woo her mom. As the secret takes off and starts to build her mom's confidence, Holly has to produce an actual guy to match the secret. Enter Ben (Chris Noth), an uncle of Holly's friend. Over the course of the movie, Holly resorts to desperate measures to keep the ruse alive, almost costing her mom true happiness when the perfect guy really does come along. This soundtrack includes the artists Howie Day, Kimberly Locke, Dennis Deyoung and more. Curb. 2005.

4 out of 5 stars Almost the perfect soundtrack...   May 31, 2006

I really liked this soundtrack and I really liked this movie. At least it didn't have any Hilary Duff music in it but it had fun, uplifting music. Let me just say, it's a romance soundtrack; a fun, and romantic soundtrack. I bought this soundtrack summer of 2005, and I still listen to it often. It's fun! But maybe it could do without the Robert DeYoung songs!

1. Collide - Howie Day 4/5
2. I Will Learn To Love Again - Kaci 5/5
3. Better Than This - Kimberley Locke 5/5
4. Real Life Fairytale - Plumb 4/5
5. Let It Go - Jadon Lavik 4/5
6. The Real Thing - Sara Overall 5/5
7. If You Got What You Came For - Beth Thornley 4/5
8. Make Room - Grits 3/5 (rap)
9. Mr. Roboto (Live) - Dennis DeYoung 0/5 (cheesy)
10. Lady (Live) - Dennis DeYoung 1/5
11. Babe (Live) - Dennis DeYoung 1/5
12. Best Of Times (Live) - Dennis DeYoung 1/5

Hope you enjoy! Oh, if you wonder what the song in the trailer is, it is "Waiting for the sun": performed by "Sixpence none the richer"

5 out of 5 stars The Perfect Soundtrack   November 13, 2005

This soundtrack is very good. It is good and makes me either relaxed or active. It has great feel-good compilation of songs. When I listen, I have a lot of good feelings in it. I have either rock or soft feeling. On the last four tracks, it is a live version; it is quite a surprise for me. It is good CD overall and you should get it.

3 out of 5 stars Fits with the movie   August 3, 2005

I, myself, thought the movie was quite fun to watch. It wasn't boring, and the activities never seemed to stop. The songs did add a lot to the movie. Although some people did not like some of the songs, others did. My favorites were "I will learn to love again,", and of course "Mr. Roboto." But who am I to say if its good? You watch the movie, listen to the music, then decide.

5 out of 5 stars "The Real Thing" tops the list!   July 8, 2005

Well, there is a lot of fun music on this soundtrack, but the song that REALLY stands out to me is Sara Overall's, 'The Real Thing'! Not only can this chick sing, but she co-wrote the song! This young woman is a real talent and what ever record label puts out her album first will be reeping in the bucks!! Go Sara, Go! Can't wait to buy YOUR CD!!
Signed, your newest fan!

That is my advice after listening to this. The first song "Collide" is common on radio, etc. I like it. I'd say he takes second to Ryan Cabrera in the battle of male alternative singers. Highlight of the CD is Sara Overall - very talented. Two more good songs.
Guide to the songs below.
1. Collide - Howie Day -We like -4.5 stars
2. I Will Learn To Love Again - Kaci (club beats, boring, give it up girl!) - 0 stars
3. Better Than This - Kimberley Locke -not my cup of tea, but a strong voice. 2 stars.
4. Real Life Fairytale - Plumb -Interesting, enchanting...-3.5 stars
5. Let It Go - Jadon Lavik -who IS this?? 4 stars

6. The Real Thing - Sara Overall -BEST of the CD. 6 Stars!

7. If You Got What You Came For - Beth Thornley -2 stars (ungirly rock)
8. Make Room - Grits 0 Stars (rap)
9. Mr. Roboto (Live) - Dennis DeYoung ---
10. Lady (Live) - Dennis DeYoung ------- (1 Star. Yuck. Old)
11. Babe (Live) - Dennis DeYoung -------
12. Best Of Times (Live) - Dennis DeYoung --

Thankfully, they kept duff OFF this soundtrack, because I don't think it could take more damage. Get Howie's CD, wait for Sara's(the rest are even BETTER) , find out if you like Jadon or Plum, and don't buy the soundtrack! :)That's what I'm doing.
