| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Eminem's four studio albums shattered so many sales records that you might think just about every man, woman and gerbil on the planet already owns a bulk of the songs that make up this greatest hits collection. But Curtain Call presents the perfect opportunity to have another look at the life of Marshall Mathers. Starting out in the vein of the Beastie Boys and Slick Rick, he grafted filthy verses over bubbly nursery rhyme melodies and primitive Casio beats to come up with comical singles like "My Name Is" and "Real Slim Shady." Then angst and reflection set in, resulting in rare moments of vulnerability ("Lose Yourself") and a richer musical experience ("Stan"). The three new tracks reflect the entire spectrum, with "When I'm Gone," a bittersweet goodbye letter, signaling the raw emotion and youthful enthusiasm of his early days have substantially faded, while "Fack" counters that the Detroit rapper still has the dirtiest mouth in the business. --Aidin Vaziri
Album Description The Stan's Mixtape bonus CD on this two-disc deluxe edition finds the main character in "Stan" bringing together his favorite Eminem songs. Among the seven tracks are two from The Slim Shady LP: the #5 Rap "Just Don't Give a F***" and the Dr. Dre & Mel Man-produced "Role Model." From The Marshall Mathers LP are "Criminal" and the Dr. Dre & Mel Man-produced "Kill You." The mixtape also includes two tracks previously unavailable on any Eminem album--the "Dead Wrong RMX" (featuring the Notorious B.I.G.), notably co-produced by P. Diddy; and "Renegade" (featuring Jay-Z), a legendary duet from Jay-Z's classic The Blueprint album. Also included on the bonus CD is "Sh*t on You" (featuring D12), which until now has never been released on CD.The first disc of Curtain Call includes three new songs--"Fack," "Shake That" (featuring Nate Dogg) and "When I'm Gone"--both written and produced by Eminem. In addition, the Curtain Call bonus track marks the album premiere of the controversial Eminem-Elton John live duet of "Stan" from the 2001 Grammy Awards presentation.Executive produced by the nine-time Grammy winner, Curtain Call boasts all five of Eminem's gold and platinum singles to date, from the platinum, Oscar, and two-time Grammy-winning "Lose Yourself" (#1 Pop/#2 Rap) from the 8 Mile soundtrack and platinum "Just Lose It" (#6 Pop/#7 Rap) and "Mockingbird" (#11 Pop/#10 Rap) to the gold "Without Me" (#2 Pop/#5 Rap) and "Like Toy Soldiers" (Top 40 Pop). The other Grammy winners included are "My Name Is" (Top 40 Pop/#10 Rap) and "The Real Slim Shady" (#4 Pop/#7 Rap). Also heard are "The Way I Am" (Top 30 Rap), "Stan" (featuring Dido) (Top 40 R&B/Hip-Hop), "Sing for the Moment" (Top 20 Pop/Rap), "Guilty Conscience" (featuring Dr. Dre), and "Cleanin' Out My Closet" (#4 Pop/#5 Rap).Curtain Call: The Hits spans contributions from all four of Eminem's major-label solo albums: 1999's quadruple-platinum The Slim Shady LP, 2000's nine-times-platinum The Marshall Mathers LP, 2002's eight-times-platinum The Eminem Show, and 2004's Encore, which is almost five times platinum. The three most recent charted #1 Pop and #1 R&B/Hip-Hop, with his major-label debut #2 Pop and #1 R&B/Hip-Hop. Each of his first three albums also won the Best Rap Album Grammy (Encore will be eligible for the 2006 presentation). Eminem has to date sold more than 65 million albums.

The Best of Eminem for sure! February 17, 2008 Eminem is a rap icon. His rhymes are simply too good to be true. He's one of the top stars in the hip hop genre. And, in 2005, he finally got a hits compilation.
'Curtain Call: The Hits' starts out with a hilarious skit, and than gets into 'Fack,' which isn't one of the highlights in my opinion on the disc. The beat is catchy, though.
I'll just go into the highlights, because I don't want to ramble. 'Without Me,' 'Sing For The Moment,' 'Mockingbird,' his 2001 duet at the GRAMMYS with rock legend Elton John 'Stan,' and 'Like Toy Soldiers.'
However, I wouldn't mind seeing 'Superman' or 'Drips' on here from his 2002 record 'The Eminem Show.' Other than that, no complaints whatsoever. A nice little career retrospective from one of the best rap artists of all-time. Plus, the new songs are excellent, too.
Highly recommended for the new Eminem fan and the die-hard Eminem fan for the new songs. ENJOY!!!
A MUST HAVE for every Eminem fan November 19, 2006 I first heard Eminem's music in a Toronto dance club. (The Real Slim Shady) My dad has the album but wouldn't let me listen to it. A couple years later I bought this album and I loved it. It has all the major songs: The Real Slim Shady, The Way I am, My Name Is, Lose Yourself, Without Me, Sing For the Moment and many many more here is a list:
Intro: Who cares?
FACK: 8/10: How the FACK can you say that this song sucks? Ha ha... It's so facking hilarious!
The Way I Am: 7/10: Good single but could have been replaced with higher chart toppers.
My Name Is: 9/10. An execellent debut single. Disgusting but funny, and creative at the same time.
Stan: 10/10: In my opinion, one of Em's greatest. It's a mysterious song and Dido provides a great chorus.
Lose Yourself: 10/10: Another one of Eminem's greatest. Very inspiring.
Shake That: 6/10: It's alright... Good beat but it give me a headache for some reason...
Sing For The Moment: 9.5/10: A very powerful song. Great Lyrics.
Without Me: 8.5/10: the Eminem Show opening single. Funny song but not as good as My Name Is or The Real Slim Shady.
Like Toy Soilders: 8/10: There is a lot of meaning in this song.
The Real Slim Shady: 10/10: This is where Eminem began for me. Possibly one of my favorite songs.
Mockingbird: 7/10: Bueatiful Song but not as good as Hailie's Song from the Eminem Show. (It wasn't a hit however.)
Guilty Conscience: 9/10: An Eminem oringinal. Very Funny.
Cleanin Out my Closet: 8/10: Eminem expresses his hatred towards his mother is a... WELL mannered way...
Just Lose It: 1/5: Just lose this song, I tell you!
When I'm Gone: 7/10: Okay, but I don't really like Eminem using his heavier rapping voice as much as his 1999-2002 accent.
Stan (live):4/10: Elton John ruins a hip hop classic!
If you love Eminem, you'll love this. Okay, so it's missing some of his other singles.(I don't have the 2 disc edition) I do wish they DID put on some of his other good singles such as Superman, Just Don't Give a F**k, Mosh, Forgot About Dre(too bad it's under Dr. Dre's name...) and a couple others. If you want to get all of them then buy his 4 previous albums and the 8 mile sountrack(although it's a waste of money in case you dislike a lot of the songs). You could also buy the Notorious B.I.G.s song off itunes same with Jay Z's Renegrede, and Dr. Dre's Forgot about Dre of get the 2001 album cause Em stars on that numerous times as well. But like I said, all his major stuff is here. I hope you enjoy it like I did.
Em's Hits September 16, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As people should know, a greatest hits collection is supposed to be all the songs that became singles, and not just peoples favourites. They have managed to include all the hits from Em's solo albums which is great. Then the bonus mixtape had some great songs that I hadn't heard before. It's such a pity that Em is retiring because his done such a lot of good for hip hop. In fact Em is not only by far the best white rapper ever, but he is one of the best if not the best rapper out there today. This CD shows you what he was all about. There are those comedic songs like Just Lose It and The Real Slim Shady which are great but nothing beats Em's emotional tracks. Such as Mockingbird, Like Toy Soldiers, Lose Yourself and When I'm Gone.
If you have just got into Eminem than his greatest hits would be a great place to start. Of course these are not his only good songs, his solo albums are full of goodness.
It would have been a 5 if "Fack" wasnt on it March 5, 2006 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Okay, i love most of the songs on it and I love em, but Fack just is terrible, it's the worst song I've ever heard before. I recommend just buying all 4 of his CDs (Contain most of these songs), downloading "When I'm Gone", buying The Blueprint (Which has an ill song from Curtain Call, "Renagade", and is just a great album).
Great over all cd February 22, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
