Editorial Reviews:

Album Description
The Sound album released in 2008 shows Mary Mary are not ones to shy away from in-your-face declarations of faith, the girls are now more intentional than ever about whom they adore, without for a moment compromising their call to innovation and growth. The introspective 'Seattle' is a prime example, a pensive prayer that asks the Lord to descend upon the soul the same way rain falls on the Emerald City. In the vein of Mary Mary standards 'Can't Give Up Now' and 'Yesterday,' a couple of ballads on The Sound stand out for their passionate delivery: 'I Trust You' (feat. Marvin Winans) and 'I Worship You' are easily the sonic and spiritual plateaus of the album.

5 out of 5 stars Mary Mary's New album Rocks   November 19, 2008
At first I didn't really care for "The Sound" the newest album from Mary Mary. But it grew on me... now I have it playing constantly in my trucks CD player. It's not the old sound of Mary Mary... it's a new sound and like I said at first I really didn't like it until I got the drift of what the Sound was about

The title for my review should speak for itself. All I can ask is that the Lord have mercy on our souls because in this day and time so many of us Christians that profess Christ and really living for ourselves, our will and our desires. We are looking, acting and talking like the world yet still professing Christ. You can't do both....we must all chose. Either you are for Christ ALL the way or not.

5 out of 5 stars A twist on gospel   November 15, 2008
I really enjoy and love this album and a few tracks is what prompted me to buy it. I see some are not excited about having David Banner on here. Now I can accept people and their opinion but let's get real! David Banner makes albums for entertainment, but that does not mean he isn't a lover of gospel. He is making money and music for entertainment only! I typed that again cause it seems some of you cannot divide life and entertainment. David Banner ain't your typical rapper however. He actually graduated from college and earned a degree and served as SGA President while in college. If that's the case then we should get mad at Kirk Franklin for having Pepa from Salt and Pepa on his album and we all know what they talked about on their album. My point is that we have to look at these ladies are grabbing many fans with different backgrounds to their music. And to be honest if their music brings the worst towards Christ then I am all for it.
